Robert John Hewitt, born in England. Started dancing locally     at the age of 6 and aged 11 joined the Royal Ballet School, White Lodge. After graduation from the Royal Ballet Upper School in 1993, moved to Austria to dance with the Ballett der Vereinigte Bühnen, Graz. After a short period (1997-1998) with the   Norwegian National Ballet, returned to Austria to dance with the Vienna State Opera Ballet ( 1998 - 2001), dancing in all the major classical repertoire, and joining  the company on tour to Japan, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Israel and throughout Austria.

Between 2002 and 2006 working freelance as a dancer, with appearances in works by Marguerite Donlon (taboo...) Nikolaus Adler( 'rien ne va plus', 'Goya'), Elena Luptak (parTerre), and    Tanja Linzbichler (Limes), and festivals in Vienna (Klangbogen, Tanzparenz, Hallamasch) and Dresden (TanzHerbst) and on tour throughout the United States and Canada and Australia with the Vienna Opera Ballet.

Since 2004 working as a freelance guest teacher in classical ballet. Regular engagements in Austria with Tanztheater Homunculus, Ballett des  Landestheaters Linz, Konservatorium Wien, X.IDA Dance Company and The Institute for Dance Arts (IDA) in Linz. Invitations from abroad include Cullberg Ballet in Sweden, Dansenshus and Danish Dance Theatre in Copenhagen, Dansgroep Amsterdam and Henny Jurriens Foundation in Holland, Proda and The Norwegian Ballet School in Oslo, Staatsoper Hannover,  Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Skånesdansteater in Malmö, Summer Courses in Copenhagen, Vienna, Stockholm and Tromsö, as well as accompanying the Austrian Rhythmic Gymnastic Team as Ballet Master to competitions throughout Europe and Asia.
